POWERMAN 5000 Announce New Bassist, Continue Work On Upcoming CD
May 12, 2002POWERMAN 5000 have finally found a replacement for bassist Dorian Heartsong, who left the group last October. The new bassist's name is Sigve, but everyone calls him "Siggy", according to frontman Spider One, and he originally hails from Norway.
"[Siggy]] is an amazing musician and I know that you all will be blown away by his energy and skills," stated the singer in a message posted in the discussion forum of the band's official web site at www.powerman5000.com. "This is a big moment!! PM5K is back in full effect!!"
The current line-up of POWERMAN 5000Spider One, Siggy, guitarist Adam Williams (a.k.a. Adam12),drummer Adrian (a.k.a. AD7),and guitarist Mike Tempesta (a.k.a. M.33)are preparing to enter the studio to begin recording the follow-up to their platinum 1999 album, Tonight the Stars Revolt!, for a late 2002 release through Dreamworks Records.
POWERMAN 5000 were, of course, scheduled to drop Anyone for Doomsday? their projected follow-up to Tonight last August 28th, but just two weeks before the release date, the band announced they were heading back into the studio to record new songs for the album. The group's scheduled headlining tour was cancelled, and the album release was postponed indefinitely.
